Description
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 I have had this DV8 Sniper Pro for 3 years...it has generated lots of revenue and has been a real work horse. We are a high - end growing post production facility and we don't want to involve ourselves in the consumer market. In January, 2008 we recently upgraded the existing DV8 Sniper Pro to the current model offered by movie stuff and had the 3 chip camera repaired as well. This is a great system and whoever wins this will be very pleased. We have over $13,000 invested in this unit and I am selling this unit TURN-KEY, so no fussing around to make it work!!! If you want Movie Stuff to warranty the DV8 Sniper Pro for 90 days there will be an extra charge of $350.00 including shipping added to the end of this auction.Listed below are the devices and software included with this unit. 1. DV8 Sniper Pro with Remote, 3-Chip Camera, 8mm lens, Super8mm lens, all connecting cables and extra belts2. Canopus ADVC 110 with connecting cables3. Dell Computer with CineCap Velocity Software, DV Codec Software, Keyboard, Mouse and Flat Screen Monitor4. ESE Black Burst Generator with BNC cable The ScanStream DV8 Sniper will transfer both super 8 and regular 8mm film in one, easy to use unit. It uses a built-in broadcast grade 3-CCD camera for direct, frame-by-frame scanning off the enlarged gate for access to 100% of the film frame. Unlike other transfer units that crop the image and shoot off the softer, base side of the film with a single, 1/4 inch CCD, the Sniper scans off the sharper, emulsion side of the film with 3 jumbo, 1/2 inch, hi-res CCDs for maximum clarity. The built-in camera bypasses the condenser lens and mirror assembly for increased resolution and a smaller footprint, allowing the installation of the Sniper into the tightest of workspaces, without regard to lighting conditions. A diffused light source reduces the appearance of scratches, and fewer optical surfaces to keep clean means less maintenance and increased productivity. The Sniper comes with a super bright, ultra-cool LED light source that will protect the film from burning or warpage. It uses a high quality, uncompressed Y/C video output via easy to find "S" connector. This ScanStream unit performs TRUE frame-by-frame scanning at about 15fps(roughly the same speed as regular 8mm). It offers 100%, totally flicker-free playback at any speed desired, including 9, 10, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20 and 24/25fps and outputs both PAL and NTSC via CineCap/Velocity software. Easy to use controls limit the need for specialized labor and fast, automated computerized operation makes it ideal for high volume shops where fast cycle times are required with minimum labor. The sprocketless drive protects your customers' films from the potential damage typically found on other sprocket driven projectors and transfer devices. True, total frame discretion means the clearest, most crisp picture possible next to a Rank transfer and why MovieStuff telecine units are number one, worldwide. Technical stuff: This unit requires a Canopus ADVC 110 analog to digital converter for guaranteed performance. The Sniper has a maximum capacity of 400 feet (take up reel included) and comes pre-mounted on a convenient base. Sound film can be run through this unit but it will not reproduce the audio track as it is a silent projector. The Sniper uses a high-torque DC motor and LED light source and can run off of 50/60 cycles from 100-256 VAC so no transformer is needed for international users. You will need a minimum 512 megs of RAM, a firewire card and a P4 level Intel processor or the like. Your operating systems should be XP Home or Pro (no Vista). The included camera is rated about 700+ lines and final video files are both NTSC and PAL, using the Velocity/CineCap software. This software is PC only. Software: Written specifically for use with the ScanStream Sniper series, CineCap/Velocity will work with virtually any PC based firewire system to create standard DV codec AVIs that can be imported into your existing edit program (even Mac!). CineCap provides post-capture speed preview and will automatically batch process the necessary speed changes for your footage. While CineCap/Velocity is required for use with the Sniper series, it is not a product of MovieStuff. All questions pertaining to CineCap/Velocity should be addressed here: http://www.alternaware.comTHIS IS HOW IT WORKS: The video output of the camera must be converted to a DV signal before entering the computer and requires the ADVC 55, 100 or 110 made by Canopus. The projector has no shutter and rapidly presents all frames to the video camera directly via a magnified view of the gate. As a result, the video camera is actually looking at the surface of the film for maximum image quality. Each time a new frame comes up in the gate of the projector, it is stationary for a split second and the software registers that frame's position within the video stream. Then, the film advances and the same thing happens for the next frame, and the next and the next and so on, for hundreds, even thousands of frames. After processing via CineCap Velocity, the end result is that each frame of your movie will exist on a separate frame of video on your hard drive. Then the playback rate of those frames can be determined by using CineCap or your existing edit software for perfect, flicker free movies on video with clarity edge to edge and zero hot spot. The ability to transfer each frame and keep them separate makes the Sniper series the finest personal transfer device available for super 8, regular 8 or 16mm film.
